The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is an advisory body of the European Union that represents civil society, including employers, workers, and various interest groups. Founded in 1957, it offers recommendations on EU policies and legislation to ensure diverse societal perspectives are considered in decision-making. Comprising 329 members from all EU member states, the EESC advocates for participatory democracy and works on key areas such as social policy, economic growth, sustainability, and digital innovation. It also offers EU Internship that provide young professionals with hands-on experience in policymaking. Serving as a link between EU institutions and civil society, the EESC promotes inclusivity in policy development.
